About Me: Well, I've been bowling for only 4 years now. When i was a freshman in high school, i tried out for the team just for something to do after school, but got cut by my coach. Well, I got really serious after getting cut and made the team my Sophomore year with a 133 average. Not exactly the best score, but i was just starting out. I had a hand-me-down Storm Triple X, and used it to get my average up to 152. My Junior year was pretty fun. I was on JV for basically the whole year, not JV2. This was exciting, and our team got the experience we needed for my Senior year. For my Senior year, we won our Sectional, and placed 13th in state, just 20 pins out of making Day 2 at the tournament. Now, my average has gone up to about 190. Now in college, I've really been bowling alot and hope to make the College team. Right now, I'm averaging about 195.

    College! Go Huskers!!

    Thursday, November 29, 2007, 08:45 PM [General]

Ch-CHEAA, im back up in this bii!  Whats up everybodyy!  Greetings from Lincoln, Nebraska, home of the Huskers!  First semester is going ok...  Calc was killin me, so i had to drop it, but whatever.  My PolySci class is great, good teacher, good recetation teacher, and 9:30, so i get to sleep in!  i have a solid B in the class.  English = PWN!  That class is one of the most enjoyable classes ive ever taken.  A!  History is hard, but im fightin thru it, hopefully ill get a B, and then ill have a 3.6 turnin for 2nd semester.  On the social level, not so great... at the beginning of the year, i had a hard time because i guess im really shy around people i dont know, so i really kinda kept to myself for a while.  Met up with Dan, a kid that went t DGS, and we hung out alot and it was pretty solid.  anyway, recently, i kinda broke out of my shell and partying and just having a really good time with the people here, but man, do i miss chicago!

So, back when i really wasnt talkin to anyone, i wasnt bowling either.  so i drop my calc class, and decide i have alot of free time, so y not take another class?  enter: Bowling 101!!  man, thqat class is pretty kick ass.  good people, fun time, and im gettin back on the lane.  so the teacher got me thinking, why not go out for the team??  so she gives me the number to the coach, and she says i have a really good shot of making it, and that made me pretty excited.  so, i call up the number she gave me and the guy is really nice.  He says that tryouts are Decmeber 9th, at 11am.  so now, its on! im gettin my new soles and heel for my Dynarooz' by then, and i should be good to go!  but im waitin on that, but ill keep you posted.

Thanksgiving was last week, and it was fun!  got to see leroy and mike, and then everybody else, and damn was it great.  It was good to just go home and see everybody that you hadnt seen for months, and sleep in my own bed!  ^_^ Good Times.  So we play football, and Josh, yes, Josh o all people shows up!  man, do i do a double take!  he was supposed to be in FL and not comin up, but im not complainin.
Tues night: Los Burritos with Mike, see Anna, Tay, Marie, and Linz briefly.  Then pick up Laura and see Brian and Rob for a Bit
Wed:  Pick up Mike and meet up with Brian at Willowbrook where we all bowled with the team.  it was great, and Preuss, if ur readin this, im bowing to you as we speak! lol.  picked up Leroy and OG'd it upp!  Cruised around a bit, ushered in the new Standard Cruise 4, I-55 South -> I-355 East -> I-80 North -> I-294 West -> I-55 South and exit at Kingery.  Then we headed to Loew's and saw This Christmas.  good movie.
Thursday: Turkey with Family!  it was great seeing Katie again, as well as Unc, Aunt, Buddy, Payton, and the Parents.  Grandpa was supposed to come but he's had it really rough on holidays since Grandma passed away.  She was such a great person, and i really miss her, and at the same time, feel bad for Grandpa because he is almost depressed (understandably so).  Later that night i saw Mike and... Kevin and Mike Go to White Castle... lol, good times! Whats up Zeshawn?! LOL
Friday:  Saw Brian and watched the HSHS boys in a Tournament at T&C Lanes.  They looked pretty good, but i guess they fell apart toward the end.  Oh well, theyre still having a relatively good season.  Then went to play football at Harvester.  It was a great time!  even though my ribs still hurt, i think i pulled my groin, and was dizzy as hell after knockin Andy out on a Kick Return, it was a good time.  Bill's girfriend's brother came too and this kid is pretty cool.  He played with us and we were all on the line.  We designed a run play for him, and he went down hard.  He messed up a bone in his lower leg, and could have torn his MCL, so i felt REALLY bad.  It sucs cuz he was a really nice kid too.  Hopefully he'll be better over Christmas Break and he'll come bowling with us (hes a Bowler too, which makes him EXTRA-cool!)  Later that night we chilled back at Anna's and had a really good time.
Saturday: Went to Amanda's and had a really good time.  Its good catching up with people.
Sunday:  Woke up and had time to just kinda hang out for the morning.  Mom and dad dropped me off at the airport around 1 and i walked through the airport to the terminal.  RANDOM:  i saw a kid named Jesse that lives across the hall from me and he was there too!  he was connecting from Cinci and turns out we had the same flight; even more ironic, he was sitting next to me on the plane!  it was awesome!!

Anyway, Ill Blog again on the 9th of December! Peace out kids!

    Willowbrook Lanes ProAm '07

    Wednesday, June 13, 2007, 06:29 PM [General]

Well, I didnt want to go back there after being laid-off in a pretty brutal way, but found myself in Willowbrook again a couple weeks ago.  Well, i was talkin to the manager, and he said there was a spot open to bowl with my #1 idol of all time, Pete Weber.  I jumped on it so fast!  So, the day came, and i was really excited, but hadnt bowled in a long time.  anyways, bowled with pete for the first game, and he seemed to be a really nice guy.  we were talkin about his trip to hawaii and seemed down to earth, unlike what alot of people say.  so, got it started in practice with the first three balls for strikes.

It feels really good when you can show off your score to someone older than you to prove that you are better.  The guys i bowled with on the pair were really nice, except for one who gave me alot of unnecessary crap.  First game came, he had the first couple strikes, but at the end of the game, i struck out in the 10th to save my 206 game and beat him by a pin.  Good feeling.  So, the second game, idk what happened, but i just kinda fell off and really couldnt find a good line to play.  one of my shots in the 6th frame was flush, and left me with an 8-10. yes, an 8-10! i just lost it.  missed an easy bucket pickup in the 7th and ended with a disappointing 163 game.

oddly enough though, i didnt go crazy, i actually brushed it off, and what do ya know...  pull off a 278 3rd game and place 2nd overall in the tourney!  It was an awesome feeling.  i got my line quick, followed it and voila.  i hit the first 10, and on the 11th, i was shaking.  it just moved a half second too soon and went a little bit high.  left the 6-10 and got the 10 pin.  Oh well, i wasnt upset that i didnt finish 1st, that went to forssberg, and rightfully so, he bowled awesome with a 726 scratch or something.  Props to him. as for me, College comin on Aug 22.  GO HUSKERS!!

Yeah the ladies are a little uptight sometimes to say the least. I think what irritates me the most is how they move all the tables!! I really don't see how that makes more room but...whatever. Picked up the 4-7-10 split yesterday! Yeah!

Dude~ No offence but they have been called the Brookhill Bitches for years & years...You'll be alright though, just hang in there. Hehe, Why do you think I dropped Mondays and only work Wednesdays now? There is a kick ass mens league that night also. The mens leagues are definatly a lot easier to handle than the women. But in their defence...the women come out for a night out. Most of the guys actually come out to bowl. Just be careful, I haven't seen anyone from there on this site yet, but if they read that...they might not be to happy with you.
